PROGRAMME

Worship & Prayer

Over the course of the weekend we will spend time in God’s word together, opening up conversations of faith, beauty and creativity in relation to our Creator God.

Creative Sessions

6 activity options are offered for our 4 Creative Sessions. We will make every effort to offer you your preferred sessions but where space is limited, places will be offered on a first come, first served basis. You will choose your 4 preferred activities at the point of booking:

1.     Collaborative Painting (Facilitator - Ross Wilson)

Work alongside artist and sculptor Ross Wilson to add your own contribution to a large collaborative painting, entitled “The Soul of the Eye”.

2.     Acrylic Painting (Facilitator - Pauline Gribben)

Clouds are really important for Christians. They’re everywhere in the Bible from Sinai to the Second Coming. In this session we will look at the spectacle of light and dark we see in the sky above us, making representations in acrylic of the clouds and the sea, with assistance from artist Pauline Gribben.

3.     Wonder and Write (Facilitator- Sharon Jones)

Drumalis House is set in a beautiful historic garden beside the Irish Sea. Participants in this workshop will join Sharon to find inspiration in place, spending time outdoors and composing their own piece of creative writing in response.

4.  Pottery (Facilitator- Ruth Moxen)

Work alongside ceramicist Ruth Moxen to try your hand at working with clay. In this session you will fashion your own piece with your hands and also having the chance to take a turn on the wheel.

5.     Photography (Facilitator- Peter Thompson)

In this hands-on session Peter will guide you through how to turn a photo on your mobile phone into a unique piece of artwork using the Polaroid Emulsion Lift Technique. All you’ll need will be a smartphone with internet access, as all other materials will be provided.

6. Songwriting (Facilitator- Jonathan Rea)

Participants will compose song lyrics, and hopefully tunes, with a structured Biblical brief and some guidance from Jonathan Rea. You are welcome to bring an instrument if you choose this option but this isn’t necessary.

Creative Prayer Workshop

On the Saturday evening, we hope to bring everyone together for a unique interactive experience, with lots of ideas and opportunities for creativity and prayer, facilitated by Carolyn Saunderson.

Free Time/Meals

In and amongst the sessions, we hope to also open up more relaxed opportunities for fellowship, friendship and conversation. Each day will have space to do this, whether over meals, in tea and coffee breaks, or in longer opportunities to go for walks or relax in the beautiful setting of Drumalis.
