To audition you need to be
• aged 11-17
• able to play a brass, woodwind, strings or percussion instrument. at Grade 5 standard or higher. It doesn’t matter what exams you have – the standard you play at is the important thing.
• able to pass a simple sight-reading test
• willing to play songs for Christian worship.

Please note that we are focusing on orchestral instruments, so we can’t offer places to other instruments such as guitar or bagpipes.

Auditions for the Youth Orchestra weekend will take place on Tuesday 8th January, 6:30-9PM and Wednesday 16th January, 6:30-9PM in St. Brigid’s Church of Ireland, Glengormley. You'll be informed by Tuesday 22nd January if you’ve been successful in obtaining a place on the Youth Orchestra weekend.

At your audition you will bring one prepared piece and do a short sight reading exercise. Your piece should show off your comfortable level of playing ability – pick something you can play confidently and accurately.

The weekend will cost £105, and this must be paid in full a fortnight before the weekend.
